HI PA Families, it’s that time to start getting ready for cast fittings and cast photos. We will be having both in mid/end of February. All actors will need AT HOME ITEMS. Please look below at the character list, and the items you will need from home are there. When it lists “black Jazz shoes,” black tennis shoes work as well. We would just need solid black shoes, keeping in mind that they need to be comfortable to dance in. You also have the option of a specific color tennis shoe.
Read more on the new At Home Items Needed page under Resources.

Hello PA Families, we are now in week 3 of rehearsals. All staff are filled with smiles, joy, and excitement as they walk through the school and hear the beautiful singing that takes place on Wednesdays. Please remember to wear your PA t-shirts every Wednesday. Parents, if you purchased a Seussical t-shirt, it will be ready this week, and we will have your child bring it home.
MESSAGE FROM OUR AD/SHOUT OUT TEAM:
Hello PA families
Below you will find the Seussical Jr Donation Letter, Ads form, and shout-out forms for this season’s performing arts. Our committee is soliciting ads for our printed program. These ads can be student performer ads from family and friends, as well as ads from local businesses. These will be full color and printed with high-quality paper and bound in a nice keepsake program.
As mentioned, we have six shows and about 300 seats available, and we usually sell out, so please help us solicit ads from local companies or organizations, as this is a great opportunity for a large captive audience to promote their business. We enclose samples of both student ads and business ads.
In addition, our program would not be complete without shout-outs that friends and family can send to our PA actors. Please make sure you write your shout-outs clearly.
Please review all the documents for instructions l, costs, and deadlines. If you have any questions, please email heritageperformingartsads@gmail.com.
Thank you
Pia Lewis and Ads/Shoutout team

WHAT AN EXCITING WEEK!!!!!! Rehearsals were amazing, and the excitement and enthusiasm were palpable. Actors were split into 2 groups, and they learned the first OPENING ACT. Mr. Drake could even hear the amazing singing going on in the library from his office. I took pictures and videos.
This week, all actors received their scripts. Please make sure they bring their scripts every week. If they are lost or damaged, please visit the website, and you can print a replacement.
A few industry tips from a retired actress:)))))
If you have dialogue, highlight all your dialogue and place tabs on the pages where your dialogue is located. Parents, please keep in mind!!!!!!!!!!! Rehearsals are specifically for teaching dances, practicing songs, and learning placement for the entire show. It’s crucial to support your kiddo and “run lines” with them at least once a week. Running lines means – you say the line before your kiddos (leading them into it), and they deliver their line next. At this time, they should hold their script with them every time they rehearse (do not set it down yet). In a few weeks, directors will send the message to the kiddos when they need to be “OFF BOOK.” That means they are no longer allowed to use their scripts and should be fully memorized. Please do not just check in and say, “How’s it going?” It’s very important for you to “run the lines” with them, so you get an idea of where they are in the memorization process. The skill of memorization is building up the muscle; it’s muscle memory that needs to be done daily. If your child struggles to memorize, another tip it to have them write their lines down, multiple times. This uses a different part of the brain and is very helpful.
MEMORIZATION of ALL- is done at home. Actors must practice DAILY (ideally putting in an hour a day)- all dances, songs, and dialogue. Please refer to the website for all dances and songs. All actors should have the Opening dance and song memorized by next week (OH THE THINGS YOU CAN THINK).
Please check out our Amazon WishList, if you can help with some donation items needed soon: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3V7DQ3GG9UWPP
The script is now available under Resources.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, PERFORMING ARTS- Casting has been completed!!!!!!!!!!!!! Drum, Role, Please…………………………
Please remember, we are a TEAM. We are not successful unless we all work together and hold each other up!!!! Remember, we achieve more together than we do solo. Cheer on your teammates and celebrate that we are in this together. Let’s make Seussical SOAR above the rest.
Rehearsals start when we return to school, every Wednesday from 1:30-3:30, January-March 2026.
We had 3 Amazing days of Auditions. All the kiddos knocked it out of the park. I am so proud of all of our actors. Next two weeks, enjoy, relax, and have some much needed family time.
All songs are on the website if you want to start signing and getting ready. Cast announcements at the earliest will be announced the weekend right before we return to school. Actors will also receive a script that they are responsible for and must bring to EVERY rehearsal.
Thank you to every parent for signing up to volunteer and/or donate to our program. Our Amazon wish list is full of items we need:

Please make sure not to send to school while we are at break. I will set it up for my house while we are on break, or have it sent to your home.
You should all hear from the LEAD for your department soon. Some departments are already underway. Please help out wherever you can. So many many hours go into the success of this program and we need each and every one of you to make this happen.
